I have to complain. We haven't seen a new episode of freefall in months. Only 2 episodes left. What's up with that? I am a monthly subscriber.
Your work is so good. But you start new shows without finishing the ones before.
One thing you have to understand is:
Just like with a major network, a tv network needs more than one successful show to survive. Sometimes a show that I may really want to keep producing is not doing well in terms of views or sales. So other shows are created to allow that show to hopefully stay alive. But sometimes that isn't possible-- sometimes a series just isn't doing well so it has to be cancelled and we move to other shows that are doing well or create new shows that would do well.
What you don't understand when making all of these comments and giving your advice, is that my network is a business first and decisions are made first to serve the bottom line so that our network can stay in business and not go out of business by producing shows that are struggling or in the case of Freefall, just plain got old to the fans.
OK I am a relatively new subscriber. I am a businessman so I understand about the bottom line. I am also a huge fan and that is the part of me speaking now. So does your last comment mean that we can forget about seeing anymore 'Miles and Cal?
Thanks for the question. I'm currently plotting a way forward for Miles + Cal. The actors live in different states now and The Arthouse just moved our headquarters to Los Angeles. So stay tuned for updates about that series. However, 'A Beautiful Cruel Thing' is airing now with a new episode in a few days. 😉
